The story behind Nime
I was com-plete-ly fed up. For a long time I tried to eat more consciously — I even tried multiple food-scan apps. But each time I was missing a key element: every product scan produced a generic score. Never unique to me and my needs.
Nime comes from “Niet Meer” — Dutch for “No More.” No more checking the fine print, no more looking up ingredient names, no more keeping track of sneaky recipe changes, and no more generic scores. Nime tells you exactly what you want to know about what you eat.
Luuk — Founder of Nime
Ideation & Nime founded
Nime was born out of frustration — and moved from frustration to idea, from idea to concept, and from concept to execution. The project kicked off, and the brand got a heartbeat.
MVP launch & first users
The first working version went out to real users. Everyone on the waitlist could get started, and their feedback fed straight back into Nime.
Limited version release & early pricing
A first public version, still limited. Because we're still building the full app, early users pay a lower price — our way of saying thanks for being here early.
Discovery tab
A place to discover better alternative products and stay on top of important developments in the industry — think lab-test results, regulatory changes and more.
Personalisation interface & algorithm
In the app you set your dietary preferences, and Nime then gives a personalised product score.
Community tab & batches
A community space with a playful edge. See the most-scanned products and the most active users, and earn batches — personal achievements you unlock by being active in the app and the community.
More products recognised
We're expanding the database so more and more of what's in your basket is recognised instantly. We'll keep doing this for a long time — there's no end date.
Faster scans
We're making every scan faster and smoother, so your answer is there sooner.
More languages
Nime in more languages, so more people can use it in their own language.
Independently tested
Our scores and method are independently checked, so you can rely on them. This stays an ongoing process.
