Sources

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Nime summarises official limits and published research. This page lists every source behind that, so you can check any figure we show you against the body that set it.

Nime is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for EFSA, the European Commission, or any government or regulatory authority. Where we summarise an official limit or notice, the original source is linked here and next to the finding in the app. Always check the original if a decision matters to you.

How to read this list

  • Source is the authority and the page we rely on.
  • Legal basis is the regulation or directive behind it, where there is one. Some sources are scientific rather than legal, and those have no legal basis to cite.
  • We link the authority’s own standing page rather than a particular PDF or news item. Those move, and a citation that has moved is no use to you.

Zone also draws on national and regional providers, including drinking water utilities, which differ by address. The provider for a given reading is named in the app beside that reading, because which utility supplies your tap is a matter of where you live.

If a link here is broken
